Front Beach Back Beach (FBBB) is an ambitious site responsive public art project that celebrates the rich history of the Mornington Peninsula by bringing together the diverse communities, cultures and landscapes of the area. A collaboration between the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery and Deakin University’s Public Art Commission, this is a public art explosion like we’ve never seen before on the Ninch.
A road-trip for art lovers, the scattered-site event, stretching over the entire month of November, will feature the work of 18 local and national artists/collectives who have responded to the many fascinating sites, and often overlooked histories of national significance that channel our collective past and future.
From film to sculpture, sound to performance to installation, the projects have been arranged in 3 geographical hubs: Westernport, Foreshore and Point Nepean. 15 sites, 15 stories, 15 artworks.
