This is Stellar Film Festival’s third annual event showing the very best of Australian short films as well as fine food and drinks, art and entertainment. Premiering at McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery in 2018, this is a one-night-only event. An excellent opportunity to see, hear and experience the cream of the Australian short film making crop, in a stunning location.

Showing films selected from the best of the best award-winning Aussie short films from the past year, as well as appearances from actors and directors, it has been described as “a to-die-for event” with film industry professionals calling it “the best film festival ever”. This year Stellar is offering food and beverages from the likes of Dromana Estate, Ten Sixty One Cider, Bass and Flinders, Little Olive Cafe and Johnny Ripe. Grab a drink and take a walk through the sculpture park before enjoying a delicious picnic under the stars as the short films start.

This year you’ll find titles like A Rare Breed, Allie, Bloom alongside Tropfest 2019 Best Screenplay Crush and AACTA Best Short Film The Egg. If you’re quick, you can purchase a VIP ticket and enjoy a cocktail-style dinner party held in the private indoor gallery, this includes exclusive access to facilities and a VIP bar. You also receive a gourmet show bag containing samples of fine local produce — as well as dedicated entertainment, reserved seating, and an invitation to the Stellar after party.

All guests are invited to arrive at 5pm with screening commencing at 7 for the night. There’s also the opportunity to vote in the audience choice award, with the award presentations at the end of the night. This is a must-attend on the Frankston City calendar for any local film-lover, last year was a sell-out event, and this year is expected to be no different.
