With a carefully curated range of homewares, picnicware, gifts and apparel, Indi Tribe Collective is a boutique lifestyle store you’d expect to find in Byron Bay, tucked behind Bunnings in Rosebud.

The light and bright space spans across two shopfronts, with a large workshop located at the back of the factory. Those strolling in off the street will find a vintage coffee van parked out front serving Inglewood Coffee, kombucha and tasty treats to fuel your shopping.

Inside, you’ll find an emporium of beachy holiday staples, natural skincare, tableware, fashion, kids’ toys and accessories. You can peruse racks of relaxed linen clothing or grab a hamper to fill with locally-made produce, from pasta and chilli oil to cocktail mixes, chocolate and organic wine. Whilst Indi Tribe has become a one-stop-shop for gifting, the premise started with just one product: a foldable picnic table.

Owners Nat and Rob Mammone moved to the Peninsula in 2016, drawn to the chilled-out vibe and the promise of balmy summer days spent by the bay. As natural entertainers and foodies, the pair often packed a gourmet picnic and a bottle of wine to share with friends as the kids played by the water.

Before long, Rob decided it was time to lift their picnic game, designing a folding table that kept their wine chilled, their glasses upright, and their cheese and quince paste safe and sand-free. Friends and family started requesting their own, and soon, Rob found himself with more orders than he could make himself. Nat joined him to launch the business, bringing her business acumen and coastal aesthetic into the mix.

The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail immediately set their product apart, with each piece handmade from quality hardwood and sealed with natural oils and wax. The picnic tables quickly gained popularity with the team from Spell and the Gypsy Collective and became a permanent feature at Down the Rabbit Hole Wines, causing sales to skyrocket and allowing Rob and Nat to move into their current factory.

To complement the offering, Nat began sourcing handwoven picnic blankets, portable pizza ovens, rattan bar carts, and acrylic glassware perfect for beachside sips. Basically, everything you’d need for a boozy picnic or swish BBQ. It’s an offering that continues to grow, as Nat discovers more and more local makers creating design-led products for outdoors.

You can find Indi Tribe Collective located in Rosebud Industrial Estate, alongside iconic local businesses such as Kollab, Emeldo, Olieve and Olie and Seek Solitude. Theirs is an ever-growing community of local brands celebrating the region’s coastal charm and laid-back lifestyle.
